@Braidwood: Thanks for dropping by! I have to partially agree with you, especially on the point of the new NEW FB being frenetic. Ever tried to filter your friends into sets though? That might work to stream the updates of only those people you want to keep in touch with! I especially hate the ads on the side, which only add to clutter. (ad to clutter, excuse the pun!!)

I hate the new facebook. I don’t like the new look, but the reason I haven’t been on FB in a week is that the functionality has changed. It doesn’t provide the service it did before. Very sad, because it provided a very useful service to me before: the ability to casually socialize with people I know.

It used to have a block party feel. I could look at the home page and see what people were up to. Now it has a frenetic feel. I can look at the home page and see every single activity the friend who happens to be on right now has done. Its irritating and frenetic and no longer functional for socializing.

Haha, I was referring to the 'old new' one being much sleeker. (Just in case my 'old one' gave the impression that I preferred the much, much older one.)

SEE?! Facebook is changing their layouts so often that we are now at a loss for words when distinguishing one from the other. GRAR.

@brenda: I actually liked the old new FB. That was an improvement over the previous, but this one is not sleek, like you mentioned, and also doesn't clearly distinguish between the sources of content. I hate the childish looking fonts!

@ning: haha.. when you mention crazy information overload, that totally defeats their purpose of adding all the new features to make YOUR life easier.

@Raisin: I think they should have thought longer about what they wanted to change and do it all at once so we don't have to keep adjusting!

@Claudia: But, I could do that toggling of feeds in my friends set in the old page too.... I'm definitely screening out (automatically) the highlights because they look like advertisements to me, even though they're updates!

Or you can link your twitter to your facebook and just tweet. :P

For me, the new facebook is a love-hate thing for now. As I'd consistently grouping my friends in facebook before this change, now I'm able to toggle between the different group of friends and read their feeds instead of showing all friends feed. The only thing that kinda irritated me is the highlights on the right-est sidebar. But than, like all human, we do selective viewing.

I know man. I put myself on limited fb access for Lent (am only allowed to log in once a week) and aimed to be on it a lot less so as to be more efficient and properly utilize the powerful tools it really can provide. I want to have more meaningful networking and less time wasted on just voyeuristically browsing through stuff.

However, I sign on now and it's just CRAZY INFORMATION OVERLOAD, which totally defeats my purpose. At least this is making it easier for me to stay off fb, haha.

I hate this one too. The old one looks much sleeker. And it's taken me quite a while before I had gotten used to the previous one ... and now I have to adjust AGAIN.
